Rosa Pearson was originally known as Wright's School and was incorporated as West Paris Independent School District on August 3, 1894. In 1910, West Paris was annexed by the Paris Public School System.
West Paris School was renamed to Rosa Pearson in 1946 after a beloved teacher who taught at the school for 41 years. The school, located at 1909 Bonham Street, was closed in December 1968 and its students moved to the new Thomas S. Justiss Elementary School.
