In the years 1967-76 when Joel Casey was the principal of Crockett Junior High, Mr. Casey strived to see that the students enjoyed school. "I've always felt that school needed to be fun," he said. "We have a tendency today to not have as much fun as we used to. I have students who come back to me now and the thing that they'll remember is the fun times."
It was very different back then from what it is now. The cheerleaders outfits would be considered funny-looking today, boys would just die now having to wear short athletic shorts like they did back then, and many black students grew Afros. Just take a look . . .
