When the internet goes down, read.
Taking a reading break while the network is shut down.

I began my career as a 6-8 middle school Language Arts teacher in 1990. (33 years for those of you that can't do math in your head!) I taught in a small high school teaching English, Yearbook Dance line, and Spanish. I spent 9 years as the librarian at Aikin Elementary.

I added the Principal and Superintendent Certifications to my resume. I spend a few years trying out administration. (Assistant Principal, Federal Programs Supervisor & Instructional Coach) I returned to my favorite- library in 2014. I am the librarian for 600 5th & 6th graders in the school I attended as a child. I was a library assistant in 8th grade so you can say I have come full circle.

I am a 2nd generation graduate of Paris High. I recently discovered through Ancestry.com that a great uncle by marriage was Superintendent of ParisISD. I am married to Ben, also a Paris HS graduate. We have a son, Jackson, a Senior at Paris High, and a goofy Labradoodle, Radar.

As a family, we enjoy video games, Presidential Libraries, museums, and watching Saturday Night Live. Someday we hope to travel to Washington D.C. and Canada.

I love to read, crochet, and craft. My guilty pleasures are Hallmark movies, potato chips, and pizza.
