Orange and White Day was the biggest event of the year during Philip Nance's time as principal. Orange and White Day was usually the last football game of the season, back when Crockett played crosstown rival Travis. Nance recalled, "There was a giant pep rally with everyone dressed in orange and white. We'd have a queen and a king and long ribbons. It was basically an all-day activity that ended with the football game that night."
Crockett also continued a tradition begun during former Principal Joel Casey's time with a "play day". The P.E. classes would hold different competitions out on the field, such as track, football, and basketball, that would be carried on during the day.
